Lifetime Employment : Japan

in traditional Japanese organisations, lifetime employment custom is changing these days and shifting to part-time workers or short time contract. Still, in large companies, National and local government officials, teachers and other occupations, permanent employment is commonly seen.

 

Assessment: In the USA, if you are a Union worker or Government worker, you are usually in a lifetime employment mainly because they’re the jobs with the highest job security. However, since the 70s, lifetime employment has changed as the ‘me’ generation is looking for the bigger better deal.

Along with the economy guaranteeing jobs to people is much more volatile and unlikely in most countries like the US and the UK.
